Gotta love a bird that recycles plastic. Look carefully and you’ll see yellow and blue plastic netting that this well-traveled pair of Ospreys has incorporated into their nest.
This nesting pair of Ospreys has called Zeek’s Creek in Jamestown their home for a few years now, and conservationists have equipped their nest with a webcam which can be seen here. It’s pretty cool to imagine that these two fly here from Mexico each Spring to raise a new clutch of Ospreys. These birds were at the point of extinction in the 1960s, thanks to the insecticide DDT, but are now making a comeback.
