After many years of doubt as to where the Basking Shark hangs out when it’s not in the waters off Cape Cod, it’s Summer hangout, scientists have finally discovered the Winter spot; the Caribbean. These huge sharks spend months in depths of 3,000 feet or more, according to this great Wired.com story. I’ve seen these things on the way to Bermuda in the late Spring, and on my way back from the Caribbean, and they’re absolutely stunning.
